How do I know my document will remain confidential?

All MetroText staff are subject to a Confidentiality Agreement which specifies that we will not to pass on any of the details of your documents to third parties without your consent, except as agreed to within our Terms of Service. All documents received by us are held only on our secure servers, and all Emails received and sent (including attachments) use appropriate industry security standards. How long does your service take?

If you have a deadline, please inform us of the details during your order. Twenty-four hour and forty-eight hour guaranteed service is available for many projects. Our standard turnaround for most work is within 72 hours of your payment being authorized, but this may vary depending on the size of your text and our current workload.

What will you do?

We edit your document for fluency and clarity, while maintaining your individual style and expression. Our editors and writers come from a wide range of backgrounds. Apart from their excellent knowledge of English, they have a wide range of specializations, ensuring that no area of your work will be unfamiliar to them. If any part of your text is too ambiguous for our editors to resolve, we will contact you for clarification.

What is the difference between editing and proofreading?

If your document needs more than minor adjustments to spelling and grammar, you need an editor. If it is already in an advanced stage of preparation, a proofreader will run through the text and make sure that it is free of errors. If you are not sure what service you need, submit a sample of your text and we will give you a free evaluation of your needs.

Do you have a minimum order size?

No. However, in order to cover our administrative costs, we do have a minimum charge of $2.00 USD.

Do you offer discounts for bulk/long term standing orders?

Certainly. Please contact Customer Service for a customised rate quote for your project.

What are your payment options for corporate customers?

In addition to our standard payment methods, corporate, government, and organisational clients can arrange payments via electronic check, paper check or money order. Periodic invoicing is available for long-term/standing orders.

Why do you use a quote system for custom writing?

As every document is different, a price cannot be set on custom writing projects without the specifics of the project. Please note that the rates for custom writing given on our Web site are averages only.

What types of payment do you accept?

All of our financial transactions are handled through PayPal, so we accept all PayPal approved methods of payment, including PayPal account, direct bank transfer, Visa, MasterCard, Discover, and American Express. We also accept electronic checks, however, as we do not return your document until payment is authorised, we cannot accept them for orders of guaranteed 24 hour or 48 hour return. Why do you use PayPal?

PayPal is free, secure, and easy to use for our customers. They will keep all of the records of your purchases, allowing simplified record keeping for you. Also, they handle the entirety of the payment transaction, so we never need access to your sensitive financial data.

Do I need a PayPal account to purchase your services?

No. However, if you choose not to open an account, you will only be able to pay with a credit or debit card.

What if I'm not happy with your work?

In the unlikely event that any page of the corrected copy does not meet your order specifications, MetroText will refund the price paid for that page. If you are unhappy with any aspect of the style or phrasing, we can carry out minor corrections and changes free of charge. We may charge an additional fee for more substantial rewriting.

What about my personal voice?

English can be a very complicated language. At times, spelling and usage can vary widely, depending on the context of your document. Without being too pedantic, our editors will carefully use grammar and punctuation appropriate to the context of each individual area of your document.

What if I've used a certain style, regional dialect, or special format?

We have worked on a lot of creative pieces, and are used to all types of styles, dialects, and special formatting. If we are unsure of something, we will contact you. If there is anything specific that you do not want altered, just mention it when you fill in the "Instructions" section of our order form.

Do you have editors who understand UK English/US English?

Yes, simply specify what dialect of English we should be using when you place your order.

What types of files can I upload?

Documents will be accepted in any text format, including those generated by major word processing platforms and text editors. If we cannot access your document for any reason, we will contact you immediately to make other arrangements. If our arrangements are not acceptable to you, a full refund will be issued promptly.

Why won't my file upload?

If you are having problems it may be due to heavy Internet traffic, or a fault with your ISP or your computer's capacity. If you experience any difficulty, please contact Customer Support.
